The consumer has the complaint of, wrong ‘spelling’ of his name printed in the monthly electricity bills issued to him, by KSEB. The consumer has requested to get the name corrected in all records but was not abided by the respondent and hence demands to award compensation for the lapse of deficiency in service, on the part of the respondent in correcting the omission on time. The first grievance has already been redressed and no purposeful deficiency in service was proved.

The appellant had applied for reduction of contract demand which was not considered by the KSEB. The consumer approached the CGRF and the Forum reduced the contract demand. The appellant wants refund of the fixed charge amount collected fro him. Also he wants refund of excess amount paid by him during the meter faulty period. Petition allowed.

Based on an audit report, the consumer was served with a short assessment bill for the meter faulty period for the reason of non-assessment of the consumer during the faulty period. The consumer challenges the faultiness of the meter and also argues that the amount demanded is barred by the law of limitation. It is held that the decision of the CGRF in this matter stands good and disposed of accordingly.
