Dispute over the calculation of average monthly consumption during the meter faulty time and its period – P/237/2011 – L.Leelamony, Palarivattom, Kochi.
The existing meter of the consumer was faulty which recorded (in the test meter) three times the true energy consumption. The request to refund the amount paid as electricity charges during the meter faulty period was not considered by the Board. The CGRF has assessed the monthly energy consumption and ordered to adjust the excess amount remitted in future bills. The dispute is regarding the calculation of monthly average assessed by the CGRF, its period and refund of the amount with interest rather than adjustment in future bills.
