Tariff change – consumer’s premises occupied as dormitory/bachelor quarters to his employees –P/266/2012 – G. Gopinathan, Ernakulam.
The main dispute relates to the tariff assigned to the consumer’s house, which is used for the stay of his hotel employees. Originally the tariff assigned to the house was under domestic tariff, as it was used for residential purpose. Later, it was discovered, pursuant to an inspection that the house is being used for the stay of the hotel employees and KSEB changed the tariff to commercial. Held that the tariff assigned for such an accommodation or stay is classified as under commercial category.
