Meter faultiness and issuance of back assessment bill to the consumer – P/358/2013 – Sudhikumar S, Thiruvanathapuram.
The electric meter installed in the premises of the domestic consumer was found faulty and the party was issued with a back assessment for the meter faulty period. It is held that the consumer is bound to pay the charges for electricity he has consumed and ordered to reassess the back arrears for a period of one year prior to meter change based on the average 6 months consumption after replacing the faulty meter.
