The consumer has the complaint of, wrong ‘spelling’ of his name printed in the monthly electricity bills issued to him, by KSEB. The consumer has requested to get the name corrected in all records but was not abided by the respondent and hence demands to award compensation for the lapse of deficiency in service, on the part of the respondent in correcting the omission on time. The first grievance has already been redressed and no purposeful deficiency in service was proved.

It was detected by the APTS team that the consumer was engaged in the business of Call centre services and therefore comes under LT VIIA. But he was assigned LT IV-industrial for Software Devp. Activity. Hence a short assessment bill was issued to the consumer since the tariff for the Call Centre comes under LT VII A commercial so as to recover the revenue loss occurred, due to the difference in the tariff rate between LT VIIA commercial and LT IV industrial. Decided that the consumer falls under LT VIIA- commercial tariff.

The appellant representing the consumer organisation, “Nattika Upabhokthru Samrakshana Samithi’ took up the issue of removal of two numbers of unused posts on behalf of a petitioner, Sri. Abdul Rahman. The petitioner wants the removal of 2 posts standing idle. The respondent’s version is that the posts were kept in the petitioner’s property for future use, which is found unsustainable.
